WITHIN Y Parts Ways With Drummer

December 13, 2006

Swedish melodic death metal band WITHIN Y has parted ways with drummer Thim Blom (ex-GARDENIAN).

Commented Blom in a statement: "After several years of pain in my wrists, I've come to the point where I can't perform at the top of my abillity and to do what it takes to play at this level. I don't know what the future holds, but this is it for now.

"There is no hard feelings between me and the guys. I wish them all the best and good luck with WITHIN Y!

"Please come and see me perform with the band for the last two times in Gothenburg/Henriksberg or in Hässleholm this week!

"Take care and thanks for the support throughout the years!!"

WITHIN Y recently uploaded a performance video of the song "Beautiful Violence", recorded in September 2006 when the group opened for NEVERMORE in Gothenburg, Sweden. Watch it at YouTube.com.

WITHIN Y's sophomore album, "Portraying Dead Dreams", was released in Sweden this past spring via the Gothenburg-based label Gain. The band last year parted ways with bassist Mattias Wanerstam and replaced him with longtime friend Jonas Larsson.

WITHIN Y's debut album, "Extended Mental Dimensions", was released in March 2004 through Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records).
